Jane K. Schrom, 89, of Lower Paxton Twp., passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2015, at Community General Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of James R. Schrom, Jr., to whom she had been married for 50 years.
Born July 16, 1925, in Aurora, IL, she was the daughter of the late Edward A. and Anne (Eipers) Burscheid.
Jane was retired as a registered nurse from the former Polyclinic Hospital. She was an avid bowler for many years and enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading. In past times, she liked traveling with her husband.
Surviving are four sons, James and his wife Peggy, Edward and his wife Meredythe, Frederick and his wife Stacy, and Paul and his wife Mary; two daughters, Pamela Schrom and her husband Kenneth Sager and Kathleen O’Hare and her husband John; eight grandchildren, Brian, Rebecca, Edward, Jacob and Daniel Schrom, Meghan and Laura O’Hare, and Katherine Sager; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Jane was predeceased by a brother, Edward L. Burscheid and a sister, Ione Ostendorf.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
