James Henry Meas, Sr., 97, of Clearwater, FL, formerly of Harrisburg, passed away September 11, 2014. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Daniels Meas, in 2002. Born in West Decatur, PA, he was the son of William T. and Elizabeth (Motter) Meas. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving his country during WWII. He was a retired federal food inspector and was employed by Swift & Company for many years. He was a member of Skycrest UMC, Clearwater, FL and Cross Keys UMC, Harrisburg later in life after being an active member of Stevens Memorial UMC for 46 years. He was a member of the Travelers Protective Association, serving as a local post Secretary-Treasurer, State President and National Director. A 60 year member of F&A.A. Lodge 391 of Philipsburg, he also was a member of Harrisburg Forest T.C.L#43, Consistory and Zembo Shrine Temple. He is survived by his son, James H. Meas, Jr. and his wife, Martha ; and his daughter, Marilyn M. wife of Lee Shoemaker ; 4 grandchildren; six great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 16, 2014, at 1:00 pm, at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Harrisburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any is Masonic or church affiliations. Arrangements are being handled by Neill Funeral Home, Harrisburg.
