Gerald Wade Burdick passed away Friday, October 6th, after a long battle with cancer. Wade attended Sacred Heart Parochial School and was a 1968 graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force and attended Harrisburg Area Community College. Wade enjoyed all sports, especially baseball and the New York Yankees and could rattle off statistics like a professional sports broadcaster. In addition to the Yankees, he enjoyed watching Notre Dame and Penn State college football. Wade loved taking long car rides, playing cards with family, the racetrack and casino and eating KFC. He was preceded in death by his parents Gerald Burdick & Anne McNally, his cousin Kirk Souder and his brother Dennis Burdick. Wade is survived by his stepmother Lillian, his siblings Timothy (Bridget), Lisa (Lee), Michael (Jeannie), Kelli (George), Shawn (Brooks Anne) and Amy (Brian), his sister-in-law Nam, aunt Ann Marie Legal and cousins Laurie, Danny and Jeff, and a great many nieces and nephews. As Wade was the oldest of our family, we are all deeply saddened over the loss of our leader and big brother. While we will miss our big brother, we are so very thankful he is no longer suffering and most certainly found peace at Heaven's gates, greeted by his family with a deck of cards ready to pick up where they left off.
Burial services will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery on Monday, October 23, 2023 at 2:30 p.m. www.pennlive.com/obits
