George H. Himes

He was born in Harrisburg January 16. 1933 son of the late George H. and Harriett (Lontz) Himes Sr.

He was a graduate of John Harris High School and attended Lycoming College. He was a veteran of the US Navy, serving in the Korean War. Prior to retirement he was employed with Bethlehem Steel for over 40 years.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Laura Himes in 1995, as well as two brothers, David and Donald Himes and two sisters, Wenda Beres and Karen Vajda.

Survived by his children; Daniel Himes, of Enola and Connie Himes, her husband James Waters, of Hummelstown, 3 grandsons; James, Kyle and Lucas Waters and several nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be Monday, January 9, 2017 from 6-8 pm at Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry St. Harrisburg.

Funeral will be conducted Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 11:00 from Neill Funeral Home, with viewing one hour prior to service. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
