Donald Ray Neuer Jr.

Donald was born on August 14, 1950 in Lewisburg, PA to Joan Reed and Donald Neuer Sr. He was raised in Milton, PA, where he grew up learning how to hunt and fish with his dad and Uncle Ralph. His first love was his beloved dog Sporty. Countless hours and memories were made in the creeks and lakes between Pennsylvania and New York, learning about nature, fishing and perseverance. During his teenage years he resided with his grandparents, Bessie and Harry Neuer on their farm in Milton. He attended Milton high school, where he enjoyed playing football and baseball until graduating in 1968. He loved being a "Milton Black Panther" and continued to show his hometown pride throughout his life. It was there that he met the love of his life, Donna Nogle. They were married at Saint Andrews in Milton and enjoyed their honeymoon in Virginia, before spending the first years of married life in a small place off upper Market Street.

Don adored his 1970 Javelin those early years of marriage and went on many adventures hunting elk and moose in Colorado and Wyoming. After 5 years of marriage his oldest daughter Andrea, affectionately known as Andi, was born. Shortly thereafter, his daughter Kimberly was born, followed by his daughter Stephanie. He took on a house full of girls with lots of ribbons and bows and bickering between sisters. He loved that he got to be a stay-at-home Dad. Favorite memories with his girls were sick days when they stayed home playing Checkers and Candyland and watching wheel of fortune, while he made chicken noodle soup and peanut butter crackers. He enjoyed being involved in his daughter’s sporting activities and sharing his knowledge of the woods and wildlife with them. Whether it was taking Andrea to gymnastics, where he was a coach for the Gym Stars, teaching his kids how to swim at the Watsontown Pool, where he was a diving instructor, or coaching and umpiring baseball games for his daughters, he shared their passions. Some of his best memories were when his daughter, Kimberly, would go hunting with him for deer and turkey. He was so proud of the deer he would help her bag and bring home.

He also loved spending time on Rose Valley Lake with his Labs and Chesapeake Bay retrievers in the boat. Many family vacations were enjoyed in nature, at a cabin or traveling to New York and Canada to bring home trophy salmon to proudly display. He also loved family vacations at the beach, going out too far in the waves for his wife to be comfortable and playing mini golf. Later in life, his time was spent hunting turkey, deer and bear and watching his teams, Notre Dame, the Yankees, Giants, Jets, and he could always be heard screaming, "Let's go, Mets go" during a game.

Above all, he loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He loved going to their sporting events and school events and bragging about them to anyone who would listen. He was a jokester with a tremendous sense of humor. He was the king of bad dad jokes and loved sharing his humor, especially with his grandsons. One of his favorite things was going to the movies with his grandkids and their friends. He was a dad and pap-pap to everyone. His home was always open to any kid that needed a friendly face, warm home and full belly. His home became the hangout for his grandchildren and their friends. He was a strong and loving man who made many memories with his wife of 52 years, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He often could be heard saying, "Don't do anything I wouldn't do".

In the final chapter of his life, his one goal was to be a soldier in God’s army. He wanted everyone to know the love of God. He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Neuer. Daughters Andrea McGrath, Kimberly Yoder and Stephanie Gray. Grandchildren Kaylee and Noah Wade, Molly, Delaney, Keira, Conor, Liam, and Megan McGrath, Grace Kaiser and Olivia Gray. Great grandchildren Elliot and Hazel Metzger. A private celebration of life to be held at a later date with family and friends.
