Curtis Wright

Curtis Wright was born December 1, 1947 in Moultrie, GA. On Friday, June 22, 2018, he quietly answered the call of our Heavenly Father and went to rest. He received his education in the Harrisburg School District.

Curtis married Renda E. Warren-Wright on February 12, 1983. They celebrated their love and friendship for over 40 years. Curtis enjoyed working on cars, going fishing, doing carpentry work, and was Manager of his parents’ bars Porter’s 1 and Porter’s 2 for over 30 years. He loved helping his neighbors with any project that they needed help with. And he was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

He was proceeded in death by his mother, Marjorie Porter; his fathers, Jessie Wright and Alexander Porter; his two sisters, Prudence Clark and Marilyn Coley; a brother, Terrence Porter; daughter-in-law, Jacklyn Wright; two brothers-in-law, Joe Lomax and James Clark; and two sisters-in-law, Marjorie Forster and M. Diane Hubbard.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Renda E. Wright; his sisters, Catherine Moses (Curtis), Muriel Wright (William), Pamela Porter-Lomax; four brothers-in-law, (Her Ride and Die) – Keith Warren (Diteasha), George Warren (Avis) Coggie Ashby, Norman Hubbard, and Dennis Warren; his sons, Curtis Wright, Sr., Jesse Wright, and Durrell Wright; his daughters, Elvetta Knox (Stephen) all of Harrisburg, and Antionette Dixon of Texas; two god sons, Rafael Martinez and Frederick Guider; eight grandchildren, Tiara Aviles, Tanisha Knox, Justin Knox, Brittnea Wright, Shanelle Wright, Jordan Knox, Curtis Wright, Jr., Kevin Wright; eight great-grandchildren, Eurya, Kennedy, Zemira, Aden, Isaiah, Nile, Khai, and Ilias (born 6-22-2018); and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Relatices, and Friends.

A memorial service will be held Monday, July 2, 2018, 12 Noon, at Rescue Fire Company #37, 3701 N. 6th Street, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
