Clara Jane Brown, 84 of Mechanicsburg, PA and formerly of Lemoyne, PA passed away peacefully on October 10, 2024. Clara was born in Johnstown, PA on November 15, 1939 to Loy Vincent Holland and Mary Holland McConnell.
Clara was a member of Saint Theresa Roman Catholic Church, New Cumberland, PA. Clara worked at the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission where she retired. She enjoyed her work with people in her early years, from waitressing at the Gazebo Room to working as a Clinique specialist at John Wannamakers in Harrisburg. She was a fan of strong coffee and liked her ice cream. She enjoyed Fox news and discussing politics. She also enjoyed crafting, sewing and collecting Rosaries. She had many collections exemplifying her good taste. More recently she enjoyed many visits with her nephew John and his pet rabbit.
In addition to her parents Clara was preceded in death by her brothers, Raymond Holland of New Brunswick, NJ. John Zobel of Lemoyne, PA, and sister Alma Lenker of Mechanicsburg, PA. Clara is survived by her son, Philip Brown of Harrisburg, PA, and sisters Pamela Cooper of Dillsburg, PA, and Suzanne Decker of Enola, PA along with many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Jonathan and the staff at Brookdale Grandon Farms and Residential Hospice for their care of Clara.
Arrangements are under the care of Cremation and Burial Society of Harrisburg. A private service was held by the family.
