Charles H. "Chuck" "Butch" Leach, 69, of Harrisburg, he passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, MD. He was born July 2, 1947, in Harrisburg; he was the son of the late Robert and Tressa (Fenton) Leach Straub. Surviving is his wife of 48 years, Darlene M. (Bahrenburg) Leach; a daughter, Jennifer D. Leach, of Harrisburg; a sister, Martha "Marty" Powley (Steven), of Shermansdale; mother-in-law, Bettie Hazzard; father-in-law, Frederick Bahrenburg Jr; Sister-in-laws, Barbara Miller (Robert) and Nancy Mahaffie (Samuel); Brother-in-laws, Frederick Bahrenburg III (Robin) and Duane Hazzard; his dog, Fritz; his cat, Tinker Bell; and aunts, uncles, several cousins, nieces and nephews. Charles was a retired truck driver for UPS and a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, the United Parcel Service Circle of Honor, the Coffee Crowd and the Eager Beaver Bowling League Cheering Squad. Charles was a Girl Scout Volunteer, a past president of the Central PA Muscular Dystrophy, and volunteered with MS Bike Tour and several other organizations. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 Friday, November 11, 2016 in the Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry St., Harrisburg. Burial will be at Woodlawn memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held at 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM Thursday, November 10, 2016 and 10:00 AM Friday, November 11, 2016 until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the Capital Area M Special Olympics.
