

He was born February 11, 1939 in Somers Point, NJ, son of the late Byron Nichols, who died serving in WWII, and Dorothy (Newsome) Nichols.
Byron served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1961. In 1983, he re-met his teenage sweetheart, Judy, and was married on November 5, 1983. He moved to PA with her and started Nichols and Son Plumbing and Heating Co. from which he retired in 2001. In his younger days, he excelled at playing pool and darts.
Butch and Judy were pet lovers and have always had pet cats and dogs.
He is survived by his loving wife, Judy (Cajka) Nichols; beloved toy poodle, Petie, who was constantly at his side; daughters, Cheryl (David) Franzell, Dorothy Lancaster, Nellie (Carson) Mattingly, and Kelly (Doug) Hampton; step-sons, Steven, Brian, and Wayne Petroski; 7 grandsons; and 4 granddaughters.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father Larry Brewin.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
