Barbara A. Taylor

Barbara Ann Taylor, age 89 of York, Pennsylvania passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at York Hospital. She was born on July 28, 1935 in Washington DC, daughter of Cecil and Grace Dunn. As a Navy wife Barbara traveled around the US and Puerto Rico, with her first husband and daughter, Vanessa. After a divorce, she met Samuel Taylor and they lived in Maryland where she worked for Giant Foods, and then later, Leggs where she did store resets. In the late 80’s they moved to Red Lion, PA where they enjoyed retirement. In 2003 Barbara and Sam moved to Stoney Brook Manor in York.

Barbara had a unique sense of humor and quick wit. She was always thinking of others, offering to lend a helping hand and volunteered at her church, Zion Bible Church. She loved to read her Bible, go to church, and share the love of Jesus with others. She enjoyed playing games and puzzles, shopping and sharing a meal with friends and family.

Surviving are her sister, Linda Johnson, daughter, Vanessa Cain (Bill), and her 4 grandchildren, Shane Devine, Travis Devine, Amanda Phillips (Jason) and Adam Cain (Marissa), and 9 grandchildren, Megan Devine, Ian Devine, Ava Devine, Arianna Mcgarvey, Amelia Phillips, Aspen Cain, Jackson Cain, Chloe Phillips and Cassidy Phillips. In addition to her parents, Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Samuel Taylor, and her brother, Cecil Dunn, Jr.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 20th, 2024, noon at Zion Bible Church, 1550 N East Street, York, PA 17406.
