Michael K-Don Welborn, 57, of Harmony, passed away peacefully in the arms of the Lord, with his family by his side, on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at Cedar Rock Assisted Living in Mocksville. He had been in declining health for 2 years and terminally ill with lung cancer for 6 weeks.
He was born in Iredell County on October 5, 1958, to the late Manuel K-Don Welborn and Hilda Campbell Trexler, who survives. He was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church and attended North Iredell High School. He was disabled all of his adult life. He loved God, everybody, all of his family dearly, especially his mom, and his family dearly loved him.
He is survived by his dear mother, Hilda C. Trexler and step-father, Elton Trexler of Harmony; sister, Vickie Schneider (David) of Statesville; niece and nephews, Jaclyn and Jason, Amy and Dale; great niece and nephews, Kaylee, Logan, Natalie, Hayley, and Charles Elton.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, Manuel Welborn; sister, Wanda Kay Welborn; brother, Tony Welborn; and grandparents, Wilfred and Nettie Campbell of Harmony, and John Robert and Victoria Welborn of Hamptonville.
The family will receive friends Saturday, June 13, 10 to 11 a.m. at Reavis Funeral Home of Harmony with a graveside service following at 11 a.m. in the Harmony Cemetery, the Pastor Bruce Handy, Jr. officiating. Pallbearers will be: David Schneider, Jackie Campbell, Gayle Reavis, Roger Reavis, Royce Welborn, and Steve Wooten.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Harmony UMC, P.O. Box 450, Harmony, NC 28634 c/o Treasurer, or to Hospice/Palliative Care Center, 377 Hospital St, Ste. 103, Mocksville, NC 27028.
