Irene was an angel on earth and now she is an angel in heaven.   She was the sweetest person and a hard worker.   She was a great cook too.  She loved her family so much.  She was so proud of her boys and she raised two fine boys.  Everyone loved Irene.   We loved our visits over the years.   They always made you feel so welcome in their home.  She always had a smile on her face.  I loved her very much.   The family is in our thoughts and prayers.  Love you all.

what a sweet soul I use to do irene's hair when she was in another facility, I would love to hear her stories she would tell about her life. I am so sorry to see she has passed, heaven is much brighter with this sweet one there. Praying for you all

Aunt Irene cared for her family in a way few could do. My Aunt Sadie told me the story more times than I can count of how Aunt Irene, as the only girl in the household, stayed home and selflessly took care of my grandfather (Papa White) after my grandmother was struck by lightening in the late 1930s. Aunt Sadie, who was off at college with her sisters earning teaching degrees,  said she didn't know how her papa would have gotten by without Aunt Irene to help. That is how she lived her life--for others.

Dale   and   family,  just   wanted   to   express   my   sorrow   at   the   loss   of   Irene.   She   was   a   wonderful   person   and    Mom   and   us   thoroughly   enjoyed   her   spirit   and   laughter   when   Mom   was   in   the   room   with   her   at   Morganton   Long   Term.   She   loved   her   banana   milkshakes   that   I   brought   her   and    Mom   when   visiting.  She   said   it   was   the  first   one   she   had   ever   had    and   brother   did   she   enjoy   it.    We   missed       being   with   her   when    Mom   went   to   another   facility   but   my   sister   and   I   would   visit   her   from   time   to   time.   I   would   take   her   a   few   bananas   or   a    milkshake   and   talk   to   her.   She   missed    being   with   Mom   there   so   much.   I   didn't   get   to   go   for   several    months,   then   when   I   finally   did   she   didn't   remember   me.   She   was   a   wonderful,   happy,   loving    and   laughing   soul   and   I   know   she   will   be   missed.   May   the   peace   and   love   of      our   Lord    and   Savior   carry   your   family   through   this   rough   time.   By   the    way,   Mom,   Lucy   Branch,   passed   away   in   March   of   this   year   too.    God's   love   to    you   all,

I truly have fond memories of Irene.  No one could make a persimmon pudding as good as hers.  She and Lloyd were wonderful neighbours and I loved them dearly.  My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
