Franklin Ray White

Mr. Franklin Ray White, 80, of Union Grove, died Monday, June 24, 2013 at Davis Regional Medical Center. Born in Iredell County on May 5, 1933 and was a son of the late Thomas Gaston White and Pheba Blankenship. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and was a retired logger. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and any outdoor activities. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Betty Stevenson White who died on June 20, 2007, two brothers, Carmie and Tom White and a sister, Pauline White, along with a grandchild, Rae Jean White.

Survivors include three sons, Don White of Union Grove, Mike White and his wife, Lisa, of Statesville, Frank White and his wife, Robin of Statesville and a daughter, Sue Williams and her husband, Bryan of Union Grove. Also surviving are a brother, James Oatha White and a sister, Lillian Redmond both of Union Grove along with grandchildren: Bradley Williams (Sara), Ashley Ponczka, Ivan Eastman (April), Lisa Flowers, Jonathan and Sarah Hamby and great grandchildren: Jason, Makenzie, Casey, David, Natalie, Makayla, Trey, Logan, Kianna and Madalyn.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Saturday June 29, 2013 at the Reavis Funeral Home Of Harmony. No other services are scheduled. In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorials to be given to the National Kidney Foundation 4701 Hedgemore Dr. Suite 810, Charlotte, N.C. 28209 or to the American Lung Association, 514 Daniels St. Suite 109, Raleigh, N.C. 27605. Reavis Funeral Home Of Harmony is entrusted with the arrangements.
