Jesus S. Gonzalez

Jesus S. Gonzalez, 84, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 4, 2012, at his residence in Harlingen, Texas, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Garza Gonzalez, Nuevo Leon on September 12, 1927. He was the sixth of then children born to Cresencio and Ramona Gonzalez. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Cresencio and Ramona Gonzalez; brothers, Fidencio and Antonio Gonzalez; and his sisters, Estefana G. Escamilla, Georgina G. Regino, and Lidia G. Benavides.

He is survived by his wife, Maria de la Luz Gonzalez; two daughters, Idolina (Gerardo) Jauregui, Irma (Porfirio) Salinas; four sons, Armando (Maria) Gonzalez, Jaime (Sylvia) Gonzalez, Eliazar (Tammy) Gonzalez, Arturo (Brenda) Gonzalez; a brother, Hortencio Gonzalez; and three sisters, Celia G. Gomez, Virginia G. Trevino, and Natalia G. Avila. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Monday, August 6, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Harlingen, Texas. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria, Texas.

Honored to service as pallbearers are his grandsons, Javier Gonzalez, Jerry Jauregui, Joey Jauregui, Arturo Gonzalez, Jr., Ramsey Gonzalez, Andrew Gonzalez, and Justin Gonzalez. Honorary pallbearers are his brother, Hortencio Gonzalez, and his grandsons, Michael Margenau and Israel Pena.
