Eduardo Mendez

Harlingen, Texas - Eduardo Mendez, 37, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 31, 2011 at his residence in Harlingen, Texas surrounded by his loving family. He was a music educator who loved life. Always with a big smile and a jokester, he was an outstanding trumpet and frenchhorn player. His daughter, Kayla, inherited his love of music. He bravely fought Cholangiocarcinoma (Bile Duct) Cancer for 18 months. He was determined to beat this and watch his princess grow up, but the Lord called him. His family would like to help raise cancer awarness by donating to any cancer society.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ramon and Josefa Mendez.

He is survived by wife, Mayra L. Mendez; his daughter, Kayla A. Mendez, and his mother, Elodia Mendez.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 2, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, February 2, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Harlingen, Texas. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria, Texas.
