David Joseph Rhodes

David Joseph Rhodes, age 75, of New Haven, Indiana passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at home after a long battle with cancer and heart disease. He was born on February 22, 1948, to the James W. Rhodes Sr. and Mary Fischer Rhodes. David was a Vietnam Veteran, recipient of two purple hearts, and was proud to have served his country. He earned his Associates Degree in Business from Ivy Tech, then owned and operated Decatur Rental Center Inc. for over 20 years. In his 50's retired and able to enjoy fishing, playing cards with family and friends, antiquing, restoring classic Mustangs, and antique toy trucks. Dave is survived by his wife Lois, his son Gregory (Amy Jones-Schild) Rhodes of New Haven, Indiana, daughter Dawn (Barry) Goyings of Lake Villa, Illinois, three granddaughters, Brooke Goyings, Diana Rhodes, Daphne Rhodes, and a brother Paul (Cheryl) Rhodes of Charleston Oregon. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother James Rhodes Jr., and sister Joan Sherry. In honor of his wishes, the family will have a celebration of life gathering at a later date.
