He was born on January 22, 1951, in Hanford, California, to the late George and Jacklean Davis. He graduated from Riverdale High School in 1969 and joined the U.S. Navy, where he served honorably for four years during the Vietnam War. He was stationed at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island in Washington and deployed on the U.S.S. Coral Sea. He married his high school sweetheart, Deborah, in 1972 and they had three beautiful daughters, Terra, Tegan, and Theresa.
Terry enjoyed the outdoors as much as possible always hunting, fishing or riding his motorcycles in his spare time. He played and excelled at many sports during his time in high school, but coaching his daughters’ soccer teams and even leading one to a state championship were some of his best memories. Terry loved watching his grandchildren play sports and was their biggest cheerleader attending as many games as he could.
He worked as a grain merchant for over 40 years and loved his work and always enjoyed talking to his growers about commodity prices and the latest market news.
Terry is survived by his wife of 52 years, Deborah; his siblings: Jerry, Jackie, and Raylene; his three daughters, Terra Valadao (David), Tegan Winters (Bradley), and Theresa Brown (Derek); his grandchildren, Delaney, Conner, Madeline, Davis, Lucas, Makenzie, and Brody. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Sue.
Services will be held at People’s Funeral Chapel, 501 N. Douty St., Hanford. Visitation from 5-8pm on Friday, March 15, 2024, and funeral on Saturday the 16th at 9:30am. Burial will follow at Grangeville Cemetery, 10428 14th Ave., Armona.
In lieu of flowers, donations can may be made to the American Cancer Society in Terry's name.
