Steve is preceded in death by his father Abe Wiens and brother Anthony Wiens.
Steve is survived by his two sons Kyle Wiens and wife Veronica of Minot, ND and Colt Wiens of Castro Valley, CA; his mother Barbara Wiens of Hanford, CA and his siblings Julie Vanderpool and husband Dan of Madera, CA, Ellen Wiens of Sacramento CA and Howard Wiens of Fresno, CA
In his youth, Steve attended Delta View and Kit Carson Elementary. He also attended Hanford High School and graduated with the class of ’77.
Steve was a dedicated employee of the grocery business for 43 years. He was the Produce Department Manager at Costless, Hanford CA. He dedicated himself to his work and went above and beyond in his work.
At an early age, Steve was very active in all things sports. He enjoyed including his family and friends in his sporting ventures. He was a dedicated Oakland Raiders and San Francisco Giants fan. One of Steve’s favorite quotes was from Al Davis, “Just win baby!” It captured Steve’s attitude for life, doing everything you can to be successful, giving it your all and being the best you can be.
Steve also had a passion for motorcycles. In his early years, he raced all over the central valley. He especially enjoyed watching and attending racing events with his family and friends.
Later in life, Steve developed a passion for golf. He worked vigorously to perfect his swing and would hit the course with his sons, imparting his own personal golf lessons for the two whenever possible.
Steve was a humble man. He put his family and friends first. He was a mentor and a teacher, imparting his life’s hard learned lessons on others, constantly trying to help those around him. Steve was genuine, candid and always had a smile on his face. Steve will be loved, remembered and sorely missed.
