Rowena "Wheng" Smith

Rowena Javier Smith, 42, was born on December 14, 1971 in San Pablo City, Philippines. She passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2014, after a courageous eight year battle with lung cancer. She takes with her, boundless love and respect from her family and friends. She graduated from Olongapo City National High School in the Philippines on 1989. She had been a Phlebotomist for Avenal State Prison and a Front Desk Clerk at the Navy Lodge in NAS Lemoore before getting sick. She has been a resident of Hanford for the past nine years.

She is survived by beloved husband of twenty years; Steve Smith and their loving children; Dexter and his wife, Jessica Smith of Lemoore, Jelaine, Steve Jr., Shawn and Andre Smith, all of Hanford, California, her mother of seven children; Erlinda Javier of Hanford. Her sisters; Christina Endaya, Sherilyn de Jesus, Carol Javier and her brothers; Reginald Javier, Raul Javier and Roel Javier all of the Philippines and her two precious grandchildren; Abigail Joy Smith and Aiden Dexter Smith of Lemoore, California. She truly will be missed by many other family members and friends and will remain as an inspiration to others!

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with an Evening Service at 6:00 p.m. all at People’s Funeral Chapel; 501 N.
