When we think of Ron , the word" gentleman" comes to mind. To be loved and respected by family and friends is a wonderful legacy to leave behind. We feel blessed to have known Ron. He will be truly missed .

Hi Everyone,

I am Brittany, Ron's granddaughter. My grandfather, My “Poppy” as I called him, has always been a very special person in my life.  I have many wonderful memories of him and I would like to share a few of those with you today.
 
As a little girl, my Poppy was the apple to my eye. Everywhere he went, I was right by his side. Everything he did, I of course, had to do too. Everything about him I loved and I cherished.

I remember the trips Poppy and I would take to the park. He would pull me in a little red wagon, and we would spend hours feeding the ducks and playing on the playground. We would be having so much fun that we would loose track of time and have Grandma worried sick. 

Another favorite memory of my Poppy is all of our early morning visits. We would get up early to sit in the den with a cup of tea, watching golf or European soccer- two of his favorite things!

Without his knowing, he was educating me on life, teaching me the importance of our family, and showing me how to love unconditionally. Although I miss him, his smile, his stories and his love, I am blessed to share these memories with you and to hold them so dear in my heart. I know his guidance and his love will help me through my roughest of days. 

He was a wonderful grandfather to me, and a treasured man to all who knew him.

The love we have for Grandpa
will never fade away.
We'll think of him, our special friend 
Each and every day.
We'll walk into the room 
and see his empty chair,
although we know he's resting,
we'll feel his presence there.
The memories of his laughter,
His warm and loving smile that we will always embrace

It was eggs and burnt toast for breakfast
With coffee or tea, that was Grandpa's special time with me.
An early morning round of Golf 
Was the start to his perfect day,

Every time I drink tea, dance, get a new outfit, see a play or sing "Grandpa" I will think of him. He made me smile when I was sad. He made me laugh when I wanted to cry. He made time for me even when he was busy. My favorite memories were waking up and sitting with a cup of tea and listening to all his stories. He always made time for me. When I had a headache, he ALWAYS rubbed my shoulders even before I said anything. His love for me and my family was evident in his smile. He reached out to my boys. He gave Sammy and Nates fives, hugs and candy. Their Poppy is very special. Just as special as my "Granddad". That is what I called him when I was small. I love you Granddad." Say Hi to Jesus for me. I miss you already grandpa.

Grandma Vera, you and Grandpa showed me unconditional love through your marriage. I watched and hope I learned alot from you both. I love you grandma :) 
I wrote this song when I was 11 and now I can dedicate it to him and the Lord.
"I want to go to heaven.I want to go to heaven. I want to go see Jesus. I want to home. To do God's will because He lives in me and I never will move Him out of my life."

 My prayer for you this day is that you would find comfort in God. we dont have to understand God's purpose or ways for us, if we know who God is and trust him it will be alright." we cannot, Lord, thy purpose see. But all is well that's done by thee".

Grandpa Ron - - You always had an embracing hug waiting for me...I'm going to miss seeing you and knowing that I won't have that hug waiting for me when I come home to visit. You are receiving the ultimate hug in the arms of Jesus...You are definitely missed here on earth, but treasured in heaven. I love you Sumner, Gilmore and Drewry family!!!

Dear Lord, 
       Thank you for the angel you lent us for awhile. He brought us life and a everlasting smile. He loved us, inspired us, our own guided light. Now he shines in heaven with wings of pure white. He will aways walk softly, in our hearts and in our dreams. When our faith runs low and tears begin to fall, his spirit will surround us, lending comfort to one and all. We will always miss him, time can not ease the pain. Yet, we will always be grateful that into our lives... Our Precious Grandpa Came! Thank you and love you guys. AMEN.
