Katie,  I am very sorry for your loss of Michael.  I know from our conversations at work that you both had a close and loving relationship with each other. My thoughts and prayers will continue to be with you.

I have already met my forever person and remain truly, madly, deeply in love with Mike although he can make me SO mad! WE had only been married for a month and he did something and I said "Dammit, Honey!" He went outside and sat on the steps. When I can out to find him, he asked me if that was the way things were going to be....dammit, honey every time I got mad. No, I assured him. Sometimes I say "Holy Moly! Have you totally lost your mind, man?"
Mike was perfect for me. He was adventurous, fearless and always us for adventure. Several years ago, I wasnted to see the Texas wildflowers in the springtime and I wanted to see Kaey West someday, too. He asked me how long it would take for me to pack and off we went WITH NO MAP. I tuaght school. I had a fair idea how to get to Texas and how to find Florida once we got that far. It was one of the best trips we ever took. Only one rule. We could not eat the same stuff we ate in Hanford. We couldn;t stop at chain restaurants that had one in Hanford and there could not be a drive up window. We had so much fun!
Mike was the best husband I could ever have asked for. He was a wonderful companion, my best friend and a super father for my children. We had dinner every night at 6:30 and spent almost every evening together for the last 16 years. For the last ten years. we spet almost all of our time together and I was not bored yet.
I was the luckiest of women to find a man who was in search of someone exactly like me and was exactly what I was looking for.
I will miss him for always.

Dear katydid:
I am deeply saddened to learn of Mike's passing. Although I never met him ,I know he must have been (and still is) a fine person. If you loved him enough to marry him and take care of him for these many years he had to be wonderful.  He passed in the best of all possible ways. He had a good day with you and his beloved dog and buddy, and simply went to sleep. No loss of dignity, no lingering burdensome days in a hospital.
Please know that I love you as one of my own. I will weep and grieve with you if even from a distance. If you need to talk, you know my phone #. I would welcome that
