Manuel Garcia Silveira

Manuel Garcia Silveira, 89 was born to Manuel G. Silveira, Sr. & Clara A. Silveira on December 12, 1924 in Bandeiras, Pico, Azores. Manuel has been a resident of Hanford, California for the past 33 years and worked as a peddler in retail from door to door for 25 years. Manuel married the love of his life; Ana Aurora Silva Silveira on November 29, 1947.

Manuel was preceded in death by his parents; Manuel & Clara Silveira and his brother; Joao Silveira.

Manuel is survived by his beloved wife; Ana Silveira of Hanford and his 8 children; Maria Abreu of Arizona, Natalia Varela of Massachusetts, Louisa Dyer of Virginia, Raul Garcia of Florida, Manuel Garcia of Hanford, Eduardo Silveira of Hanford, Fernando Silveira of Massachusetts and Eduino Silveira of Massachusetts. Manuel also leaves behind his dear brother; José Silveira of Hanford, California. He will be truly cherished by his 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, April 25, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at People’s Funeral Chapel; 501 N. Douty Street, Hanford, CA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church; 10355 Hanford-Armona Road, Hanford, CA and Burial at Calvary Cemetery; 11680 S. 10th Avenue, Hanford, CA 93230.
