Lupe Perez Reyes

Lupe was born in Sinaola, Mexico on July 29, 1919 to Eulogio and Maria Perez. Her family moved to the United States when she was three years old, settling in Hanford, California. Lupe attended Roosevelt Elementary. On November 18, 1938 she married Baltazar Reyes in Hanford, California. Lupe was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed being a homemaker and caring for her family. She was a faithful member of St. Brigid Catholic Church. Lupe enjoyed gardening (especially her flowers), canning, crocheting and embroidery. Baltazar preceded her in death on October 13, 1963 and her daughter, Jessie Reyes preceded her on August 25, 1983. Lupe belonged to the SPM #22 and UPBMI #13 for many years.

Lupe is survived by her children, Genaro Reyes of Hanford, CA, Charlie Reyes of Tulare, CA, Robert Reyes and wife, Mary of Hanford, CA, Richard Reyes of Hanford, CA, Gloria Ronquillo and husband, Lino of Sylmar, CA and Judy Trinidad of Corona, CA; her brother, Andy Perez, Sr. of Hanford, CA, 18 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2011 from 3 – 7 p.m. at People’s Funeral Chapel, 501 N. Douty Street. Rosary will be held at People’s Funeral Chapel beginning at 6 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Brigid Catholic Church, corner of Douty and Florinda on Friday, January 28, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery of Hanford, CA.
