Lori Ann Steele (Crisp) was born on December 9, 1963, in Fresno, California, and passed away suddenly on March 7, 2025, in Hanford, California, due to a heart attack. She is preceded in death by her beloved mother, Nelda Crisp; her father, Jerry Crisp; and her sister, Jerri Lynn Ketchum.
Lori is survived by her four children: daughters Amanda, Christina and her fiancé Steven Nelson, son Derrick Bell and his wife Jamie, and son Jerry Lee Hayes. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Richie, Kain, Annabella, Hailie, Hannah, Jayden, Isabel, Kylie, Michael, Miranda, Kinslee, and William. She also leaves behind her cherished nieces: Savannah and her husband Chad, Kassandra and her husband Aaron, and Dortha Jayne and her husband Beto, along with her great-nieces and nephews: Sierra, Ben, Lucas, Charlotte, Arielle, and Ares.
Lori had a deep love for the outdoors, finding joy in fishing, camping, and kayaking. She was happiest when surrounded by her grandchildren, teaching them new things and creating special memories. She was incredibly talented and had a passion for crafting—if it could have fringe and bling, she made sure it did.
Lori was also known for her sharp wit, infectious laugh, and sense of humor that could brighten any room. She had no filter and often joked that her mouth would get her in trouble—but that was just part of her charm. If you knew Lori, you knew she would always tell it like it was, and more often than not, she had everyone laughing in the process.
She dedicated her career to the hospitality industry as a front desk manager, a role that allowed her to travel across the United States. She had the privilege of working in many incredible hotels, exploring nearly every state, and making lifelong connections along the way.
She also had a passion for gardening and cherished what she lovingly called "Grandma’s Petting Zoo." But above all, she lived for her children and grandchildren, treasuring every moment with them. Hummingbirds held a special meaning in her heart, as she believed they were signs from God—comforting her through the loss of her mother and now serving as reminders for those she leaves behind.
Lori loved the beach and treasured every moment when her family was all together. While our hearts ache with her loss, we find peace knowing she is reunited with her mom, dad, and sister, free from pain and watching over us.
A private celebration of life will be held at Bass Lake.
