On April 29, 1958 the world welcomed Lorraine Corona (Dennis.) On February 21,2018, at age 59, a loving and devoted wife, one-of-a-kind mother, caring sister, and gracious daughter ended her long and valiant battle with cancer, to be with our Father in heaven.
She will be greatly missed by her dedicated husband of 37 years, Robert Corona, for whom she was always the better half. She leaves behind her son, Aaron Corona, and daughter and son-in-law Veronica & Kyle Wiens. Lori is also survived by her wonderful parents, Al and Marie Dennis, and a passel of siblings to included three sisters and three brothers, along with a large extended family of brother and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews. Lori’s career of educating and caring for others began as a respiratory therapist, instructing NICU physicians how to intubate. This passion for education led her to obtain two Bachelors’ and a Master’s degree, which she translated into more than 16 years as an educator. She taught 8th grade mathematics at John Muir Middle School and assisted inmates with GED education at Pleasant Valley State Prison. Lori’s favorite past-times were reading, doing crossword puzzles, traveling, white-water rafting, and cheering on her Duke Blue Devils basketball team.
Memorial Service will be held at People’s Funeral Chapel, Monday, February 26th at 11:30 a.m.
