Kenny was born to the late Pete and Ruby Henson and was preceded in death by his sister; Myrna Wharton and brother; Clarence Henson.
Kenny is survived by his four daughters, Tracy Freitas and Ramon Landeros of Hanford, California, Tami Franke and her husband David Franke of Coarsegold, California, Tina Henson and Dustin Edwards of Laton, California and Kendra Perret and her husband Kevin Perret of Hanford, California. He has 11 grandchildren who he cherished; Airman Brooks Hurtado, Chelsea Freitas, Caitlan Freitas, Autumn Snyder, Cassidy Freitas, Jimmy Snyder, Hannah Hurtado, Holly Hurtado, Karson Perret, Payge Perret , and Gavin Edwards. He is also survived by 5 step-grandchildren who he treated as his own; Taylor Perret, Robbie Perret, Joseph Franke, Jenna Franke and Cielo Franke. He leaves behind his brothers; Harold Henson of Oklahoma, Pete Henson of Laton, California, Clifford Henson of Laton, California and one sister; Leah Korff of Laton, California. He has 13 nieces and nephews. Kenny is also survived by his best friend since childhood; David Garrison. He thought of David as another one of his brothers and confided in him through so many aspects of his life. When his children played soccer, he became President of the AYSO soccer league, where he met Suzie Alves. Together they formed an unbreakable friendship and could always count on one another.
Kenny loved white-water rafting and every year would take his kids and grandkids. He enjoyed working on his house and was so proud of the cement work he created on the front porch. He had a gift for making homemade ice cream and would experiment with different flavors to make his own creation. He was the ultimate Survivor fan, anyone that knew him, knew they shouldn’t call him during that time or you would hear about it. He was an avid collector of many items, especially coins and guns. Kenny loved the adventure of riding his motorcycle. He said, “There is no other feeling like feeling the sun, the wind, the rain, and smelling the smells along the way.” He was very proud of his motorcycle.
A Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 20, 2013 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a Funeral Service on Monday, October 21, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. all at People’s Funeral Chapel; 501 N. Douty Street, Hanford, CA 93230 559-584-5591 with Burial to follow at Oak Grove Cemetery; 19811 Cedar Avenue, Laton, CA 93242.
