Julia C. Adney

Born on April 9, 1933, in Hanford to Rosario and Josephine Casarez, Julia grew up in the community she loved. She graduated from Hanford High School as part of the class of '52, and during her school years, worked as a window dresser at JC Penney's, where she excelled and found great joy in her work. It was there that she met the love of her life, John Adney. They married in 1956 and built a beautiful life together, raising three sons and a daughter.

Julia was known for her beautifully kept yard, where she would spend countless hours nurturing her love for gardening. She also had a talent for sewing, crafting her daughter's school clothes and, later in life, making dolls for her grandchildren, as well as Easter dresses for her granddaughters and her daughter's wedding dress.

Julia is survived by her daughter Beverly Chavez and her husband Timothy, along with their children Joshua (Jen), Micaela (Daniel), and Morghan (Travis). She is also survived by her son Steve Adney and his wife Chontell, and their children Ashley (Matt), Malorie (Jess), and Jacob (Ashley), as well as her grandchildren Traci (Tyson), Tiffany (Shawn), Skyler, Rozlyn (Cecil), Rindy, and David (Lauren). She was blessed with 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Her brother Oscar Casarez also survives her.

Julia was preceded in death by her husband, John Adney, her sons David and Michael Adney, her parents Rosario and Josephine, her brothers Raymond, Angel, John, and Manuel, and her sisters Rosario and Josie. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will always cherish her memory.

A graveside service will be held on October 4, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Calvary Cemetery, 11680 S 10th Ave, Hanford, CA. A celebration of Julia's life will follow at the Hanford Elks Lodge, 506 N Douty St, Hanford, CA. We invite all who loved her to join us in remembering and honoring her beautiful life.
