Jacob Anthony Northrup, PFC

Jacob (20) was born on October 3, 1996 at Lemoore Naval Air Station, Lemoore, California. Jacob passed away on April 15, 2017 while proudly serving his country in the U.S. Army in Kentucky where he was stationed.

Jacob attended Washington Elementary followed by Pioneer Middle School, and then graduated from Sierra Pacific High School all of Hanford, California, where he was raised all of his life. While in high school, Jacob shined on his wrestling and football teams. He wrestled all 4 years and played 2 years of football (Defensive Line). Jacob also attended College of the Sequoias for a semester prior to joining the U.S. Army.

Jacob joined the U.S. Army at the Hanford Recruiting station on December 29, 2015. He then completed Basic Training on February 9, 2016 at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, and graduated earning an Expert Rifle Badge on M16A2. He later went on to San Antonio, Texas for five months and graduated attaining his PV2, MOS 68W (Field Combat Medic). He was presently serving at First Duty Station Ft. Campbell, KY with the 39th EN Brigade HHC.

Jacob had many passions in life, but to list a few of his favorites that he really enjoyed; first and foremost spending time with his family, restoring his 66 Ford Mustang, playing basketball, watching football (Indianapolis Colts), lifting weights, fishing, riding quads, hanging out with his close friends (Angel Garcia, Joshua Blackburn & Cody Cantwell) and let’s not forget eating Mom’s Green Chile Casserole & Fried Chicken!!!

Jacob will be missed dearly by many, but especially by his loving parents; Latanya & Ronald E. Rose, Jr. of Hanford along with his grandparents; Ina Gail Bridgman and Catherine & Ronald Rose, Sr. He also leaves behind his father; Donald Northrup. His siblings will forever cherish his memory; Joshua Northrup (18), Katelynn Rose (13), Ronnie Rose (11), Liam Rose (8), Samantha Rose (24) and Devin Northrup.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 27th from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a Funeral Service on Friday, April 28th at 10:00 a.m., all at People’s Funeral Chapel; 501 N. Douty St., Hanford followed by Burial at Hanford Cemetery; 10500 S. 10th Ave., Hanford, CA 93230.
