Isabel Bezerra Hazard

Isabel Bezerra Hazard, 96 of Hanford, was called home on Sunday, January 27, 2013. Isabel was born to John and Rose Bezerra on October 13, 1916 at home in Hardwick, California. Isabel is the youngest of five children. She is preceded in death by her husband; John (Jack) Hazard, two brothers; Manuel and Michael Bezerra, and two sisters; Mary Simas and Rose Lovier.

Isabel is survived by three daughters; Loretta Montgomery and husband Robert of Colorado, Barbara Caviezel and husband Joe of San Clemente California, and Celine Henning and fiancé Robert Boguski of Hanford. Seven Grandchildren; Roberta Henrickson and husband Gary, Fred Montgomery, Jason Kinnamon, Tiffany Carrillo and husband Mark, Sheree Deniz and husband Mike, Lisa Fields and husband Casey, Jill Caviezel-Hoots and husband Tony. Eleven Great-Grandchildren; Tiffany Manning and husband Rob, Jerod Henrickson and wife Jenny, Berlyn Perotta, Kyleen Caetana and husband Brian, Mickaela and Marlee Carrillo, Kelen Deniz, Spencer and Nicholas Montgomery, Sophia and Aiden Fields, and five Great-Great-Grandchildren.

Isabel graduated from St. Rose Catholic School in 1929. Isabel spent her young adult life as a home maker where she was involved with St. Rose McCarthy’s Mothers Club and St. Brigid’s Alter Society. After moving to Southern California Isabel opened a liquor store (Big Daddy’s Liquor) that she owned for approximately five years. Isabel was also a cook at La Habra Hospital for approximately 3 years.

Isabel met her husband Jack and they were married in 1975. In 1979 Isabel and Jack moved to Morro Bay, California, where they enjoyed their retirement. Iin 2001 Isabel moved back to Hanford where she enjoyed the remainder of her years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Brigid Catholic Church; 1000 N. Douty Street, Hanford, CA 93230 559-582-2533 with Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery; 11680 S. 10th Avenue, Hanford, CA 93230 559-584-3937.
