Irene Luna

Irene was born on December 29, 1934 in Tulare, California to Louis Aviles and Mercedes Curiel Aviles.

Irene Aviles married the love of her life Elder Felix Luna on August 25,1956 and became a devoted wife and mother to 4 sons. Irene’s greatest accomplishment was serving the Lord alongside her husband as the First Lady of The Hanford Apostolic Church for 34 years. Irene remained devoted to the Lord throughout her life and her passion for others will be missed.

Irene is survived by her sons Pastor Steve and Mary Luna of Hanford and Mark and Derise Luna of Iowa. She also leaves behind 3 sisters, Stella Marquez of Orosi, Virginia Soto of Arizona, and Ruth Bueno of Visalia.

Irene’s greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Irene leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Irene is preceded in death by her husband Elder Felix Luna, sons Elder Gary and David Luna, grandson Gregory Luna, parents Louis and Mercedes Aviles, sisters Norma Chacon, Abigail Ortiz, and brother Ruben Aviles.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, April 26, 2023 at 6:00 pm followed by the Celebration of Life Service at 6:30 pm at Pentecostal Church of God (323 E 11th Street, Hanford, CA 93230).

Funeral services will be on Friday, April 27, 2023 at 10:00 am at Pentecostal Church of God with the Graveside Service to follow at 12:00 pm at the Hanford Cemetery (10500 S 10th Ave, Hanford, CA 93230).
