Harold was born to Raleigh and Mary Elizabeth Tuck on January 22, 1926 in Tranquility, California in a barn after travelling across the United States. He was raised in the Central Valley until he went off to the military and then had the opportunity to travel the world. Harold went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at Hacienda Healthcare in Hanford, California. Harold proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII and then later reenlisted in the U.S. Air Force retiring as a Tech. Sergeant after a long career. While in the service Harold was a recipient of the Bronze Star! Harold was a longtime resident of Avenal, California.
Harold had three siblings, he was the oldest; Glenn, Kenneth & Virginia Marie Tuck. Growing up Harold enjoyed playing football but was especially fond of baseball. Harold graduated from Lemoore High School in 1944 and went directly in the U.S. Army, to the Pacific Theater instead of being able to depart to the Cardinals Baseball Team. He always worked, even from when he was a child but managed to find time to spend with his friends. As Harold grew older, he ended up breaking his jaw playing football. Harold has been a lifetime member of the VFW, a member of the Rebecca’s, Independent Order of the Redmen and of the Avenal Gun Club. Some of Harold’s passions were working in the yard in his garden and decorating for the holidays outside. He also loved to watch sports but was mostly a fan of baseball, college football and golf. He also took pleasure in visiting with his friends at the Senior Center. He had a love for animals; dogs, cats and turtles, and would feed all the stray cats in the neighborhood. Harold retired in 1970 and settled in Avenal, where he liked to play dominos with his friends, participate in the gun club events, attend the senior center and found peace working in his yard.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents; wives; Helen, Esther, and Florence. He was married and widowed three times. He leaves behind his precious daughter; Gloria Jordan of Tulare, California.
