Edwin Lewis Rush

With heavy hearts Edwin passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on Sunday August 13, 2023. Edwin was born in Los Angeles County, CA to Chester and Ethel Rush. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother David Rush and a sister Mary Ellen Griffith.

Edwin's family moved around a lot but settled in Laton, CA where he attended school and graduated from Laton High School. Edwin served in the Navy and received an Honorable Discharge. Edwin then met and married Marilyn McKean and was married for 67 years. He then moved to Hanford and attended Coalinga College where he graduated. Edwin then began working for the Kings County Ag Commissioner's office where he worked in Weights and Measures, his final title was an Ag Inspector 3. He retired after working for 30 years.

Edwin has 2 daughters, Lynn Rummerfield and Kelli Rush. He has 2 grandsons, Frank Eddy III and Lance Thomas, 1 granddaughter Melody Thomas, and 2 great grandsons Edwin R. Rush and Axle Rush. Edwin also leaves behind a sister Dorothy Lowery and numerous nieces and nephews along with many friends.

Edwin loved to hunt and fish, especially in the Shaver Lake area. He was also known for his mischievousness, joking and pranks.

A Celebration of Life will be held August 26, 2023 at the Laton Nazarene Church (6258 Murphy Ave, Laton, CA 93242) at 2:00 pm with the Reception to follow in the Fellowship Hall.
