As a young adult David ran a hay bailing business with his father and served in the US Navy during WWII. While he was away he always made sure to send money home to help his father support the family. After the war, David met and married the love of his life Berta (Carmen) Saettele. They moved to Hanford, CA in 1968.
In his 93 years of life David had many professions from business owner to factory worker, finally retiring from Pirellli Tire in 1990. David was a hard worker and continued to work through his retirement, helping his wife and daughter run Wallpaper for Less until the stores closure in 2001. After the closure of the store David dedicated his time accompanying his wife on weekly shopping trips. People would fondly refer to them as the candy couple because they always had candy and kind words for whoever they met.
David spent the remainder of his life focusing on his faith in Jesus and family. He was very grateful that God blessed him with enough years to know his grandchildren as adults and meet all 4 of his great-grandchildren. He was very proud of getting baptized with his daughter and granddaughters at Koinonia church and to have read the entire bible many times.
One of his lifelong passions was building and creating. David was a fixer. He did not believe in throwing anything out and would spend hours working on a project until it was perfect. Today David is remembered by the love and craftsmanship that he put into helping many in the family build their homes.
He was truly a wonderful man and will be deeply missed.
David was preceded in death by his beloved wife Carmen, brother Walter Bruce, sisters Violet Pacheco and Dorothy Wisenhunt, and his parents.
David is survived by: His daughter and son-in-law Carmen (Carina) and Rick Joyner. His sister Elsie Stojan, sister-in-laws Lorraine Bruce and Lucia Miller.
