Betty J. (Tribble) Gardner was born in Lemoore, CA to Ethel and Earl Tribble. She grew up in Hanford and graduated from Hanford High School in 1950 and continued her education at Fresno State with a focus in business.
In 1960, Betty began a 40-year career at the Kings Federal Credit Union (KFCU) which started in her daughter Susan’s bedroom. By the time Betty retired KFCU was serving its members at its current location on Lacey Blvd.
Betty belonged to Soroptimist International of Hanford and was recognized in 1995 as the Woman of Distinction. Also, she was inducted into the Hanford Joint Union High School District Hall of Fame in 1999. Betty was a member of Hanford First Baptist Church as well as the Fresno First Baptist Church.
Following Betty’s retirement, she continued her love of travel for leisure and sporting events. Betty attended every home and away Fresno State Men’s Basketball game for several years. Also, she was an avid SF Giants fan, from Candlestick Park days to Oracle Park to watching games from home.
Betty was predeceased by her parents, husband Charles, brother Corky Tribble and sister-in-law Jean Tribble.
Betty leaves behind her three children and their spouses: Stephen and Esther Gardner, Susan and David Stone and Rebecca and Frank Pimentel. She is further survived by three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 11th at The Terraces, San Joaquin Gardens. Private graveside services will be held at a later date.
