Betty Jean Bair, 83, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Missouri, Betty grew up in Lincoln Park, Michigan, where she met and married her husband, John Jacob, leading to a family and a long career as a Navy wife. She knew no rank and welcomed everyone to their home.
Betty retired in 2012 from the California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation as a Case Records Technician. For 14 years, she was the secretary for the First Christian Church in Hanford. Betty was a 40 year member and Past Matron (1986) of Lucerne Lake #13, an official escort to the CA OES 2017 Grand Warder, California Order of the Eastern Star, and currently held the position of Chaplain. She is now reunited with Brother John Bair, Jr. of Welcome Lodge. If Betty wasn't home playing card games or dominoes with family, you could find her at a sporting event cheering on the local teams.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents Fred & Edna Gaddy, husband John, son Stephen, granddaughter Wendy and daughter-in-law Barbara.
Betty leaves behind her 3 children, J. Fred, Deborah and Nancy; 6 grandchildren, Stephanie (Mel), Michael (Venus), Megan (Matt), Jessica (Austin), Jacob (Samantha) and Daniel; 8 great-grandchildren; 3 siblings-Paul, Audrey and Carol; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Betty’s Life will be held on Saturday, June 24th at 3:00 p.m. at the Masonic Lodge; 647 W. Bush Street, Lemoore, California. Betty's final resting place will be beside her loving husband at Michigan Memorial Park; 32163 W. Huron Drive, Flat Rock, Michigan 48134 on Saturday, July 1st at 3:00 p.m.
