Anthony Cornejo Diaz

Anthony was born on January 2, 1986, in Hanford California & passed away unexpectedly in the early morning on July 3, 2024, in Lemoore California. Anthony was a loving son, father, brother, uncle, friend and husband.

Anthony was raised in Hanford, attending local schools, eventually graduating from Earl F. Johnson High School. Anthony attended West Hills College for a bit. During this part of his life, Anthony married Carla Ortega-Cornejo and together they experienced parenthood for the first time with the birth of their oldest son Jesus Cornejo. Being a father meant so much to Anthony, there isn’t anything he loved more in life than his kids Jesus, Selena, Chalino, David & Sisco. Anthony truly was the best father he could be.

Anthony enjoyed the small but meaningful things in life like spending time with his kids, visiting his siblings and oftentimes looking at the stars thinking about life. Anthony mentioned to his oldest Jesus “if you ever need to talk to me, talk to the stars and know I am there listening because that is how we are connected”.

Anthony will truly be missed by all those who knew him. Anthony was a friend to many, he truly cared about those that he came across both locally and the time he spent walking the red road in Southern California and around the coast. With an outgoing look on life and the willingness to put others before himself Anthony’s passing will forever change those around him.

Besides his loving kids, Anthony leaves behind many nephews and nieces, his brothers Jesus Diaz, Carlos Cornejo, Gabriel Diaz, Eddie Diaz, David Sanchez, Gerardo Rodriguez and his sisters Evelyn Bogarin, Cindy Huerta, Demetria Rojas, Carmela Diaz-Bursiaga, Victoria Diaz, and Criselda Diaz. Anthony was embraced by his parents in Heaven, Jesus & Rita Diaz as well as his brother Andy Bogarin.

Anthony did not like saying goodbye, oftentimes telling his mom and Nina it is never goodbye, “it's see you later” so as Anthony would have said:

“It is never goodbye, for we will see each other again until then…. See you later.”

A funeral service for Anthony will be held Monday, July 29, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at People's Funeral Chapel, 501 North Douty Street, Hanford, CA 93230. Following the funeral service will be a graveside service at 3:30 PM at Santa Rosa Rancheria, 15315 S 19th. Ave, Lemoore, CA 93245.\

A Light Is Gone

A light is from our household gone. A voice we loved is stilled. A place is vacant in our home, that never can be filled. The golden gates did open. A gentle voice said, “Come”.

And with farewell unspoken, we said,“Thy will be done”. May the blessed virgin greet him and present him to her son. May her sacred heart receive him, as it was, God’s will was done.
