William "Bill" Howard Hawkins

William Howard Hawkins, 80, a native of Poquoson passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2024. Bill went peacefully at home in his sleep. Billy was a graduate of Poquoson High School and loved being a part of the community for many years. He attended Trinity Methodist Church most of his life. His career was with the airlines and he worked many years for Piedmont Airlines and later for US Air. Billy loved gardening and always had a beautiful home and yard. He also had an affinity for fast cars.

Bill leaves behind his faithful companion Lou Mitchell. He was preceded in death by his grandson Dustin Todd Ellis; parents Robert and Josephine Hawkins; siblings Dwayne Hawkins, Barbara Ann Lawrence, Mary Estelle Trantham, Bobby Hawkins and Vanessa Hawkins. He is survived by his two sons Ricky Hawkins and Todd Hawkins, and three grandchildren, Olivia Hawkins, Seth Hawkins and Lilly Hawkins.

The family will receive friends Thursday, February 1, 2024, 9:00-10:00 AM at Parklawn Memorial Funeral Home, 2551 North Armistead Avenue, Hampton, VA 23666. A service celebrating the life of Billy Howard will be held immediately after at 10:00 AM with interment immediately following at Hampton Memorial Gardens, 155 Butler Farm Road, Hampton, Virginia 23666.

Family and friend are invited join the family at Olive Garden Italian Restaurant, 1049 W Mercury Blvd., Hampton VA immediately following interment.
