She worked for civil service in the Tradoc section at Fort Monroe and retired in 1985 after 30 years of service.
Virginia is preceded in rest by her husband, Edgar L. Peters; parents, Philip Norman and Mary M. Davis; and brother, Dr. Philip Norman Davis, Jr.
She is survived by sons, Norman C. Peters of Hampton, Gary S. Peters of Gloucester, and Edgar Lee Peters, Jr. of Gloucester; and grandchildren, Steven Peters of Kansas, Christopher Peters of Texas, and Kelly Peters of Hampton.
The family will receive friends on Monday, March 7, 2011 from 1:00 to 2:15 pm at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, with a graveside service to follow at 2:30 pm in Parklawn Memorial Park.
