Tom grew up in Hampton and graduated from Hampton High School in 1956. He then furthered his education and graduated from the NASA Apprentice School in 1966 and retired from NASA in 1995.
He was a member of Masonic Lodge #197 in Phoebus and managed Little League baseball for five years in Phoebus. His passion was golf and he belonged to the NASA Golf Association at L.A.F.B.. He enjoyed playing with his friends and going on their mountain trips.

Tom is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Cathy Paul & Dorothy Nicholson; and two brothers, Kenneth & Michael Hall. Tom is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jerry Marie Hall; daughter and her husband, Karen and Allen Freels of Kentucky; son, David B. Hall of Poquoson; grandson, Thomas Freels of Kentucky; brother and his wife, William and Nancy Hall of Franklin; brother-in-law, Burley Miller of Florida; daughter-in-law, Rita Hall of Poquoson; step-grandchildren, Matt and Ami Freels of Kentucky and he will be greatly missed by his grandpuppies, whom he loved very much.
A celebration of Tom's life will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, July 17 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home with his life-long friend, The Reverend James West Mathieson officiating. Entombment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 pm until time of service on Thursday in the funeral home.
