Thaddeus DeWitt Williams entered life on April 17, 1953, as the fifth child of the Reverend Charles Williams and Hazel Williams in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He was a graduate of First Colonial High School where he was admired as a great athlete in track and field and a most popular student. Growing up, he loved nothing more than surfing and working with his father and brothers. He became a resident of Richmond, Virginia in 1973 to pursue a bachelor's degree in advertising and communications at Virginia Commonwealth University. While attending college he met the love of his life and future wife of forty-four years Michele Barnes Williams.
Thaddeus retired from the United Parcel Service as a manager, and he loved working there for thirty years. After retirement he continued working as a teacher and as the owner of Williams Construction Services. He was a good neighbor who always lent a helping hand with yard work, home projects and car repairs.
Thaddeus departed this life on January 28,2024. He was a devoted husband and father, and he was preceded in death by his father and his wife. He will be dearly missed by his mother; two children Christopher Charles Williams and Candice Michele Williams; five brothers, Edward Williams, Charles Williams Jr. (Linda), Norman Williams (Deborah), Lancelot Williams (Kimberly) and Bryan Williams; and a host of close relatives and friends.
A viewing for Thaddeus will be held at 9:00 AM on February 9, 2024 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home in Hampton, VA, followed by a celebration of life service at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
