On November 21, 1931, Elizabeth was born and continued to live in Smyrna, Tennessee until marrying Air Force Sergeant, Eugene McCrary, and traveling the country, retiring in Hampton, Virginia. She zig zagged across the country as an Air Force wife living in Colorado, Texas, Louisiana, Georgia and finally settling here in Hampton, Virginia.
A professional, she was among the top salespersons for Elizabeth Arden Cosmetics, winning the Covenanted Counter of the Month for being the highest selling representative in 2003. She spent over 40 successful years working at Old Miller & Rhodes in Hampton, Haddad’s of Spring Hill and Elder Beerman in West Virginia. She retired to Oak Island, NC in 2011.
She loved to travel. Seeing the wonders of the world, cruises were her favorite. When she wasn’t traveling, she was spending time with family & friends, as well as maintaining her yard, doing puzzles, and taking walks. She was always fond of animals and kept many pets throughout the years. One of her favorite pets was her beloved Cocker Spaniel, Nikki.
Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents, Lillie Jordan Frye and Briscoe Frye; and her siblings, Frances Carter & William Fyre. She is survived by her first born daughter, Deborah Ollice and husband Randy; her son, Larry and his wife Cheryl; along with her cherished one and only grandson, Guy Owen.
She was fortunate to have a long and full life that was filled with happiness and love. Elizabeth surrounded herself with the people she cared about most; her family and friends.
A celebration of life service for Elizabeth will be held Monday, June 20, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Parklawn Wood Funeral Home, 2551 N. Armistead Ave, Hampton, VA with a burial to follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
