Robert Scott Allen

September 23rd, 1955 ~ June 7th, 2024

Robert “Rob” Scott Allen, went to dance on the streets of Heaven without a second thought

on Friday, June 7th.

Rob was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on September 23rd, 1955 to Don and Myrna Allen. Rob’s

life was anything from ordinary. His defining moments started in Indiana but went around the

world multiple times. Rob played high school football where he acquired the nickname, Moose.

He would go on to be called this by family and friends. His most favorable character was always

his laughter. “When he laughed, it was a whole-body laugh”, his wife remembers.

He joined the Army and became one of the best military police officers in the K-9 unit in Fort

Benning, GA, Germany, and Ft. Sill Oklahoma. He was married a few times throughout his life in

which he had 3 handsome young men that he calls his sons. Their names are Christopher,

Patrick, and Kurtis. He also acquired a beautiful daughter who was 10 years old when he got to

meet her. He did not think twice about being the best dad that he knew how to be to all of them.

Rob enjoyed reading Westerns and learning more about law enforcement throughout his life.

Later in life, he became a police officer at the Norfolk Naval Base and then went on to another

career as a truck driver.

He lived life to the fullest and enjoyed every minute of the journey with his wife, Jan. As the

years went by and time got away from them, he realized that time flies when you are having fun!

Rob loved his family and would make a point to tell them that when he was able to talk to them.

His hugs were the big bear hug type, and his laughter still resonates in the ears of those who

knew him.

Even in his last moments on this Earth, he was thinking of others. Wishing he could call

everyone but there just wasn’t enough time. The only thing that he wanted to have was a

pizza. And we are sure his son, Chris, had one all cooked up and ready for him to try that

day.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Allen, and fur babies Marley, Bella, and Noel (Chesterfield,

VA). His children are Patrick Allen (Indianapolis, IN), Kurtis Allen (Brazil, IN), and Annette

Underwood & husband, Matt (Okay, OK). His grandchildren Brandon Harwell (Tahlequah, OK),

Braidon Allen (Camby, IN), Cameron Allen (Camby, IN), Kaimon Johnson (Camby, IN), Deyden

Hall (Camby, IN), Vivan Mundy (Mooresville, IN), Audrie Mundy (Mooresville, IN), and Hunter

Rhude (Brazil, IN). Brothers, Randy Allen & wife, Jillian (Mooresville, IN), Russell Allen & wife,

Debbie (Hampton, VA), Tony Bassani & wife, Jana (Gloucester, VA), and nieces and nephews.

He was welcomed at the gates of Heaven by his parents, Don and Wanda Allen, Gus and Myrna

Bassani, brother: Tom Bassani, Son: Christopher Allen, and aunts & uncles along with his dogs,

Boo Boo, Princess, Doc, Rocky, Teddy Bear and Chloe.

A memorial service will be announced at a later time
