A veteran of the Korean War, he retired from the Air Force Reserve after 30 years of service. He was a Past Commander of Chapter 191, Korean War Veterans of America. Paul graduated from the University of Georgia with a B.S. and M.S. in Food Technology. He retired from the Food and Drug Administration on December 31, 1995.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Horton and Gladys King. Survivors include his wife, Monica; their son, John, daughter-in-law, Ellen, and grandson, Benjamin of Arlington Heights, IL; his sister, Carolyn Bull of Stallings, NC; his brother-in-law, Matthew Gage and nieces, Alyssa and Katherine Gage of Bristow, VA and Samantha Lussier, her husband Richard and their son, Orion of Dunn, NC.
The family wants to thank friends and neighbors who offered support and comfort during the course of Paul's illness, as well as Justin Moore and Taquia Johnson of Griswold Home Care and everyone at Riverside Hospice for the wonderful care they provided.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 26, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 512 Buckroe Avenue, Hampton. A reception will follow.
