Millard Earl Warren, 84, passed away February 24, 2017. Earl was born in Edgecomb County, North Carolina in 1932. In 1955 he moved his young family to Virginia where he worked at Brown and Grist and then the Newport News Shipyard for many years.
At the age of 40, Earl started his own business, Warren’s Service Center in Hampton, Virginia. He served his customers and community for forty years, retiring at the age of 80. He loved anything involving cars, whether fixing them or watching them race. When not at Warren’s Service Center, you would find him working in his garage or cutting the grass at home.
Earl is survived by his wife, Joyce; their three children, Vicky Carter (James), Gina Warren (Scott), and Norman; six grandchildren, Jennifer Antle, Traci Patrick, Jason Carter, Amanda Yarbrough, Justin Carter, and Katrina Warren; five great-grandchildren, Chelsey, Maryssa, Cassie, Cheyenne, and Emily; and sisters, Vera Miller, Mary Alice Moore, and Betty Dail. Preceded in death by his parents, Millard and Mary Warren, his brother, Jonas Warren, and grandson, James Carter, III.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 from 11:00 to 12:00 pm at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home with a celebration of Earl’s life to follow. Interment will be private.
