1944 in Gauley Bridge, WV.
Mary graduated from West Virginia University in 1965 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary
Education. She taught Earth Science at Robert E. Aylor Junior High School until 1978. Upon moving to
Hampton, Virginia, she took time off to raise a family but went back to her passion of teaching in 1986
and taught 9th Grade Earth Science at Phoebus High School until her retirement in 2008.
Mary loved gardening and truly had a green thumb. Her flower beds were a huge source of pride for her.
Mary was very compassionate and could never say no to a stray dog or cat in need. She would take them
in and either re-home them or keep them for herself.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Nannie and Cecil Rader, two sisters Anna Marie and twin,
Nancy Sue and a brother, B. French whom she loved dearly.
She is survived by a daughter, Amy Hamilton, son John Stallard and his wife Jennifer and son Clinton
Stallard, his wife Stacceye and seven grandchildren - Sarah, Christian, Kayla, Noah, Anna, Theodore and
Adam.
