Margaret Thrasher, age 90, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2013. She was a resident of Newport News for 60 years where she worked for Sears Roebuck & Co; she retired in 1984 after 25 years of service.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 50 plus years, William LeRoy Thrasher; parents, Julius D. and Fannie L. Slusher Russell; and three sisters, Helen West, Vivian Orison and Lilian Williams. She is survived by her son, William Grady Thrasher and her grandson, Brian C. Thrasher.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, immediately prior to the celebration of Margaret’s life. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
