Dear Special Macy,  Sorry it took so long to write to you, but the tears are still falling with every word as they are being typed. Our hearts are broken with your departure. You are missed so much. Mrs. Cook took care of my 2 girls for a long time until they got too old for the nursery. She had good helpers, Mrs. Ida, and Miss Patsy. I will miss her when I visit Hampton again. Ruben used to take the kids to the garden and they would pick vegetables. The dog they had protect the children and was friendly. She is greatly missed by all of us.

Macy was a strong kind woman and and good friend. She will be missed by many.
May her Memory be eternal for all who loved her.

We have so many wonderful memories, especially from the years that our daughter, Jamie, attended  Cook's Day Care, Nursery School, Kindergarden, and First Grade ...  the Christmas plays, patriotic & seasonal activities, birthday parties, and the end of the year pageants ... plus solid age/level appropriate academics gave our daughter a strong foundation that endured throughout her future educational endeavors and achievements.

My daughter, who is now 28 yrs old, attended Ms Cook's day care& pre-school as a toddler and am saddended to hear of her passing. You and your family are in my thoughts & prayers at this time of bereavement.

Knowing the Cooks since 1980 has been a tremendous plus in my business and personal life. It was my privilege to be their personal and business insurance agent. However, that relationship became personal. I so much enjoyed their " annual reviews" around the end of each summer. Then came the Christmas visits delivering calendars and a personal gift for their loyalty. I so much enjoyed visiting the nursery during the Christmas season as both Macy and Ruben, Sr. were so creative with their decorations and PROGRAMS. Hearing JOY TO THE WORLD being sung and lead by Macy in one room and another Christmas craft going on in another room. What a scene to behold. Last Christmas on my visit Ruben, Macy and I sat in the home and talked about past memories. When I last saw her in the hospital we held hands and I rubbed her forehead and she was in so much pain trying to breathe. She said, " H. P., the outside was for the living but in here was not ." We were deeply saddened by the news of Macy's death. You are in our thoughts and prayers during this most difficult time.

I will miss sitting on the front porch just talking about anything. 3 of my 4 boys went to Cook's Day Care as well as my granddaughter, Amanda who went to Heaven at the age of 13. I feel that Amanda is now taking care of her Miss Cook. The neighborhood will miss your waives as we drive down Marple Lane.

Mrs. Cook was a fixture in our neighborhood. Her faithful presence will be missed. My son attended Cook's for three years (including kindergarten) and three summers before she closed. Having her (and her husband) and the school in the neighborhood made me feel like I had picked the right place to live, and raise my now-22-year-old son. Reuben Jr. and family, my sincerest condolences for the loss we all feel. She was a big part of the heart of this neighborhood.

Ruben, Tammy and family, we are SO VERY SORRY to hear of Macy's passing.  The family is in our prayers.  May your fond memories of Macy and good times with her fill your hearts.  Macy helped us get our 1st home.

I went to school there. I worked there later for 3 yrs. I loved and deeply respected her.

Aunt Macy had me at her day nursery and school since I was born in 1961. We had many family get togethers at her house, and a lot of the school, playground, and furnishings have been left unchanged after all of these years. I used to run into her and Uncle Reuben for the past three years eating out for either lunch or breakfast at both Hardee's or Hot Dog King, and you would never find these two too far apart from the other. They were two of the hardest working people I have ever seen, and I can only offer cousin Reuben Jr., and his dad Reuben Sr., the peace, solitude, and love that only can be found through family support at this time. I will truly miss Aunt Macy. She was a very strong and stern woman who taught us all that with a little hard work, you can accomplish anything you wish too in life.

Heaven has another Angel. May you rest in paradise.

I attended Cook's Day Nursery and School 50 years ago.  It was and awesome facility and I have many fond memories and pictures from the special activities that they provided for us. 

RIP Mrs. Cook.  You and your family and staff were very special in the lives of many.

Rubin, I have very fond memories of your mom. I lived on Ramsey Ct.for many years, and I worked at the nursery, as well as I had my daughter there for a while.Your parent's were always very kind to my family.I lost my mother in January, so I know the pain you are going through. Remember the memories and that will help you through the sad times. Above all, please know how much your mother loved you. You were the light of her life and she was very proud of you.
