Born and raised in Hampton, she attended Hampton High School and eventually moved to James City County where she raised her two children.
Linda was a caregiver and enjoyed driving the van for Foster grandparents program. She eventually met her husband, Larry Ford, Sr. and moved to Smithfield where the two resided with their dog, Misty.
Linda was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 25 and the Warwick Moose Lodge #1711.
She was preceded in death by parents, Thomas R. and Doris F. Davidson; brothers, Thomas R. Davidson, Jr. and John Wayne Davidson.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 14 years, Larry Ray Ford, Sr.; daughter, Tina Mylum and her husband, Rick of Toano; son, Todd Compton and his wife, Cindy, of Lanexa; son, Larry Ford, Jr. and his wife, Deana, of Suffolk; son, Jerry Ford and his wife, Leslie, of Denair, CA; son, Mike L. Ford and his wife, Lori, of Modesto, CA.; son, Michael P. Ford and his wife, Jennifer, of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; daughter, Ashley Loveless and her husband, David, of Newport News; daughter, Laura Ford of Elizabeth City, N.C.; 14 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Linda’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, March 7, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Hampton-Veterans Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the American Diabetes Association.
