It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Leanna Ginn on December 16, 2024. Leanna was the epitome of love, laughter, and kindness—a mother, grandmother (“Nene”), wife, sister, and friend whose presence brought light to all who knew her.
Leanna was preceded in death by her beloved grandmother, Nanan; her mother, Peggy Walkup; her father, Dick Williams; her brothers Richard and Eddie Williams and her cherished Aunt Polly, Uncle Jack, Cousins Edwin and Cherylann.
She will be missed dearly by her loving husband, Teddy Ginn; her brother Ron Williams, her daughter, Carrie Nieves, and son-in-law, Gabe Nieves; her adored granddaughter, Amelia Grace Nieves; her son, Christopher Blake, and daughter-in-law, Britt; Teddy’s daughter Tiffany and her two children, Athena and Jamie; her sister Tina; her niece Peggy and her children; her nephew Travis; her cousin Sandra; her long-time close friends Melissa, Kristin, Tonya and families; and her work family at TPMG Family Practice.
Leanna had an extraordinary gift for forming deep and meaningful friendships. Her kindness, warmth, and genuine care left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She had a unique love for children, who were naturally drawn to her joyful and nurturing spirit. In her younger years, Leanna ran a daycare from her home, where she lovingly cared for and impacted the lives of countless children. Among them was Madi, with whom Leanna shared a profound and enduring bond. Known as “Nene” to Madi, she became a second mother—a source of love, guidance, and laughter that shaped Madi’s life in immeasurable ways.
Leanna’s boundless energy and zest for life were truly contagious. She loved dancing, playing games, and, above all, being with her family. Her infectious laugh, radiant smile, and warm presence could brighten any day, and her sense of humor ensured that a bad mood never lasted long around her.
To know Leanna was to be touched by her extraordinary kindness and love. She had a unique way of making everyone feel special, and if you were dear to her heart, you felt it in everything she did. She made such a difference in the lives of so many and was truly a once-in-a-lifetime wife, friend, mother, and Nene.
A visitation for Leanna will be held Sunday, December 22, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 North Armistead Ave, Hampton, Virginia 23666, followed by a celebration of her life at 3:00 PM.
Her legacy of love, laughter, and light will live on in the hearts of those she left behind.
