Kenneth was a veteran of the US Navy during WWII. After his service time he was a civil service employee with Langley AFB Housing and retired in 1990 after 24 years of service. After retirement, he worked at Enterprise Rental for 17 years and retired from there in 2010. He was a member of Langley Christian Church, Monitor Masonic Lodge #197 AF&AM, American Legion, VFW, and as a hobby, collected miniature cars.
Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Louella Smith; daughter, Lana S. Kleimon and husband, Robert; son, Gary N. Smith; grandchildren, Richard J. Kleimon and wife Rachelle, Daniel E. Kleimon and wife Robin, Ari P. Kleimon, Morgan E. Meier; great-grandchildren, Connor W. R. Kleimon, David A. Kleimon, Lily M. Kleimon; sister, Shirley Cantrell; sisters-in-law, Terry Dancesia, Charlotte White; brothers-in-law, William L. Gilmore, Hugh J. Gilmore; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 1:00 pm on Friday, November 23 at Langley Christian Church, 175 Fox Hill Road, in Hampton. A celebration of Kenneth's life will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, November 23 at the church, being officiated by Pastor Matt Scott. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
